WESTCLIFF FILM & VIDEO CLUB

ABOUT US!

In these days of rapidly changing technology the name says little of the mix of creativity and technical process which the club embraces. Perhaps the modern word which best describes what we do, would be that we are a Multimedia Club.  Our members gather increasingly digital, images and sound, usually with a camcorder, and then use a variety of techniques to turn them into programmes that can be viewed and enjoyed by an audience. The subjects are limitless!

Take a look at just some of the aspects of the movie-making hobby that Westcliff caters for:-

 ·       Camerawork using video cameras and many other types of image gathering

·         Sound recording

·         Digital photography

·         Lighting

·         Script writing

·         Narration and interviewing

·         Video editing using computers

·         DVD authoring

·         Video transfers, duplication and copying

·         Computer-video techniques

·         Movie-show presentation

But as well as all these, and probably more importantly, is the opportunity the club offers to share the hobby with like-minded others. To share experiences, to compete in friendly competition and make new friends. Many of our members have struck up life-long friendships at Westcliff.

Westcliff Film and Video Club meets at Wyburns School in Rayleigh on Monday evenings from September until May.   A full programme of events and our location details are available from the download section of our welcome page.
